More Cousins

The word of the day seems to be sachon-the Korean word for cousins.

Grandma definitely looks like she has her hands full here.

All Asians Look Alike

There's a new kid on the block-Joie has a new cousin! Congratulations to Susan's brother and sister-in-law who just delivered a beautiful girl named Phoebe.

The real issue will be trying to figure out which girl is which when they are next to each other. All Asians do look alike-at least when they are less than a month old. It's always embarassing to bring one baby to the party, and leave with another. Poor form. Can anyone tell who is Joie and who is Phoebe?

Beyond the give-away hospital hat, you might guess that Phoebe is the bottom picture. Very cute. As a side note to test your acumen with distinguishing Asians apart when they are more than one month old check out this site. My high score is 3 right. Slightly embarassing for an Asian.

Happy times at home!

For all those who might fear the C-word-colic, we've completely bought into the teachings of one Harvey Karp, self styled expert on stopping the endless crying. Here, you're seeing one of his famous "5 S's," putting the baby on her side. You can't go wrong with Dr. Karp's teachings-he is, after all, the pediatrician to the kids of Larry David and Jerry Zucker.

Noises At Night

Hiccups are a strange phenomenon. Joie herself seems very confused by the noises she makes, as if she's not quite sure if she's making the noises or someone else is. In either case, what is known is that the hiccups prevent Joie from falling asleep and thus are something to be avoided, since a sleeping baby is everyone's real goal in life.

Joie Finally Meets White People!

Joie is amazed to see the white face. With its big round eyes, and prominent facial features, the white face is a true mystery to Joie. Uncle Dybbs seems to be a natural at holding newborns, but to hear what Joie is really thinking, check out her audiopost.
